Product features and advantages

1.The mechanical seal adopts a modular design. Mechanical seals for glass-lined reactors, special material reactors and steel reactors share a common design platform. Customers only need to select models according to different standard reactor nozzles to achieve cost-effective products.
2.With a bi-directional balanced design, the bottom face will not open under overpressure. An auxiliary system must be used when the reactor internal pressure exceeds 0.5 MPa, and cooling measures must be adopted when the mechanical seal temperature exceeds 160°C; the installation height is increased by 80 mm.

3.Dry-running and buffer-type mechanical seals share a common design platform, and simple conversion can be realized only by replacing the friction pairs. Compliance with FDA and GMP standards has been considered in the design without structural modification.

  1. Leakage (Most Common)
  • Leakage at static sealing face: Check if the stationary seal ring gaskets (O-rings, V-rings) are aged, deformed or mismatched in size. Replace gaskets of the same specification that are resistant to the medium and temperature. If the fit clearance between the stationary ring and the gland is too large, re-machine or replace the stationary ring.
  • Leakage at dynamic sealing face: Inspect the sealing faces of the rotating and stationary rings for scratches, wear or chipping. Minor scratches can be repaired by lapping; replace the seal rings if severely damaged. Also verify the spring compression: add gaskets if insufficient, remove gaskets if excessive.
  • Leakage at shaft sleeve/shaft fit: Check if the shaft sleeve gasket is damaged or the fit clearance is too large. Replace the gasket or re-grind the shaft sleeve for proper fit.
  1. Abnormal Wear
  • Excessive face wear: Install a filter if the medium contains solid particles. For insufficient lubrication, use self-lubricating seals such as impregnated graphite rings, or supply external flush (e.g. clean same medium liquid).
  • Shaft sleeve wear: Replace with a wear-resistant shaft sleeve, and adjust the concentricity between the seal chamber and the shaft to avoid eccentric wear.
  1. Overheating and Burning
  • Excessively high seal chamber temperature: Check for clogging in the cooling system and clean the cooling lines. For inherently high-temperature media, use heat-resistant seal materials (e.g., silicon nitride ceramic rings, fluororubber gaskets).
  • Poor face contact due to spring failure: Replace fatigued or corroded springs, use corrosion-resistant springs such as stainless steel, and ensure uniform spring compression.
  1. Vibration and Abnormal Noise
  • Concentricity deviation: Re-align the pump shaft and motor shaft, and adjust the radial runout of the seal chamber and shaft within allowable limits.
  • Loose components: Check for loose gland bolts and drive pins. Tighten bolts evenly to the specified torque, and replace worn drive pins.
  1. Short Seal Service Life
  • Material incompatibility with the medium: Replace seal materials according to medium characteristics (e.g., Hastelloy, PTFE for corrosive media; silicon carbide for high-temperature media).
  • Improper installation: Follow installation specifications strictly. Avoid impact or scratches on the seal faces, and ensure no contaminants enter the seal chamber during installation.
